This will make you guys feel pretty good

Last night I parked in the fire zone by my room because the F***ing complex was real full and I hate parking my baby far away so i won't be able to hear the alarm. I knew I wouldn't get towed since there was 3 other cars parked there already.

So this morning I get this warning notice on my car, and it says make/approx year. The dude put Acura-2003! Made me feel good about the old CL.

It also says subject to tow next time I don't think they could tow m car anyway, it's way too low for a normal towtruck and a flatbed couldn't even fit into this area. Can you even tow our cars if they are backed in? What would they attach it too from the front? not the bumper, that shit would rip right off.

Jujst thought i'd share that with you guys since some people make comments on how our car looks prettynew for it's year

just a warning, they can tow your car and will, they don't care about breaking shit And they can basically tow anything at anytime, I don't know how they do it, but i've seen them get at cars when they only had access to one wheel.

I don't know how they do it, but I know in NYC they tow people even when there is a car in front and behind. They pull/ drag the car sideways out of the spot and then tow it. And here in NY, it doesn't matter if your car is damaged during towing, they aren't responsible for the damages. No flatbeds used at all!

Damn! Glad they didn't tow me. I only parked there since I've seen people do it all thetime and I've never seen a towtruck in my apartment complex yet. Plus there were 3 others right next to me

Why is it that every apartment complex in Ca. don't have enough damn parking spots?

because everything is built outward instead of upward. Damn earthquakes. Im from NY but live in CA now... they they rarely tow in the complexes all you get is a warning but after while they might tow it just don't rack up to many of those warnings since they will def remember your car the next time. yeh our cars are stylin. with my 95 mazda mx6 one night my battery died and I asked some guy for a jump and he was like your car is new why is your car having problems... I was like ur kidding right? Anyway that's a feel good warning

I don't understand how those tow trucks have enough torque to pull a car sideways or forward with the parking brake on...

Thats why I cant bring myself to move down to O.C. Too crowded, too expensive, nowhere to park. Especialy after five. I'll work down here, but thats it.

yea, it does suck if you live w/ multiple people. Everyplace we've had allowed 2 spots. this one we are in now you have to pay extra for the 2nd one, but only 20$ a month. But it's so much nicer and the weather is so much better here I won't give it up

BTW, So cal guys keep lookin at the stickied thread!

speaking of underground garages, **random as thought**. . . : i was watchin the discovery channel once and some dude had an underground garage at his house... Like there was a driveway and then all of the sudden, the driveway ended and it was just grass. Well he could press a button and the ground would start to raise and then all of the sudden, u could tell there was a little car sized spot to pull into...he'd pull in and it's lower him down underground to a garage...it was freakin sweet! and u coudnt even tell it was there cuz the top of it had grass on it like the rest of the yard. . .so it just looked like a driveway with no garage...hehe i wish i had one of theose...

But yea, anyway...told u it was a random ass thought..lol

yeah I've seen those garages they aren't actually that expensive compare to building a garage. Really it is just a dug out hole with concrete reinforcements and then a lift. on the top just put some dirt and grow grass or just sod it and let it grow. great thing to have if you don't want your car to be showing. even better is to dig up a lot of space and just have that grass covered lift with an underground parking garage for like 5 cars. That will be my first house mod when I hit my millions.

If you guys drive past a tow truck again, look on the back of the truck just above the wheels, but below the hook and arm, you will see some tires. These tires are actually little carts that with some straps, a tow truck driver can wrap them around your wheels, push your car anywhere he wants to - yes, even sideways, and then hook up your car to their truck and off they go. They use these for people who lock their drive wheels and use the E-Brake, so they won't damage your rotors or driveline. It's common for them on the east coast to tow people like that. ot the SNATCH MAN will pick up your car liek that sometimes - so there is no need for a flatbed if he has about 30 minutes to hookup your car.

Dajuice is right, they carry the lil carts. ju5tchi11in, tow trucks don't need much torque to move a car w/ the parking brake on. Our cars can drive themselves with the parking brake on. The 3.0 has 200 ft-lbs of torque, a diesel truck will probably have over 500. SooDark, they WILL tow your car, and they prob wouldn't give a shit if they fuck it up. However, it can be done right if they took a lil time. Most arm type tow trucks actually don't use the arm for any towing, it's to pull/move a vehicle from a stranded position. They use the deviced that is below that, it gets pushed under your car, and brackets placed behind your front wheels. The lift your car up that way and tow it. It only needs like 2"s of ground clearance. If you have your parking brake on, you'll probably need new rear brakes after this. I know this b/c I had my last car towed this way (blew head gaskets) and b/c I watched a show on TV where they showed repo guys in NYC swiping peoples cars out from under their noses. It was purdy interesting.
