Will I rub with 2.25" drop and 18"sw/40s

I need all the help I can get on this one guys. I just got my 18" Konig Imagines and want to put them on as soon as I have a definate answer. Will my tires rub with a 2.25 inch drop? My new tires are 225/40/18 My old ones are 205/40/17 and theres about a 1 inch gap. Please help, I'll post pics of the new wheels once I get them on!

i have 225/45/17 and an eibach prokit. i was told if i dropped it any further, it would rub. so, going by that, i would say that yes, yours would rub. however, that's just my inexperienced opinion.

i think if you got with 205/35 it might fit your 2.25 drop. But what you want is 225/40/18 on a 2.25 drop i pretty sure you're gonna rub.

My friend has an rsx with skunk 2 coilovers he says it's dropped 3 in the back and 2.5 in the front. He has 225/40/18 and doesn't rub at all. thats what is confusing me so much.

you may rub a little, but its not going to be that bad... i have a 2.25 drop and 35's its perfect. i suggest 35's, 40's will rub a bit

thanks joop, I might still be able to switch the tires, they haven't been used yet. Do the 35's ride smooth?

ur gunna rub .. when i had my 18's with my sportline drop 2in+ i rubbed with 40 series ... i wouldnt go 35s tho mush easier to damage a rim ... i only rubbed when i went up a decent pitched driveway .. or when at a complete full turn ..( that was only a bit tho)

:edit:
might as well show some pics
225/40/18

rear

I don't mind if I'm gonna rub on a full turn, I just want to make sure that when I'm just plain driving, that my tires aren't gonna hit my fenders or arms.

1 in drop with 18's? you should have plenty of room. What size tires did you have???

think is has to do with our car being heavier than the accord that they were designed for .... ive also heard that my tokico shocks ride a little lower

and jasshopper ... u shouldnt have any probs on a 1 in drop with 18's .. if u do than ur dropped more than an inch

Ok thanks remix mines fine too. Just put them on this morning. Perfect fit! Exactly what I was looking for. No big gaps in my wells but no rubbin on the arms or fenders unless I hit a big bump. Can't turn my wheel 100% but oh well we never had a good turning radius anyways. I'll post some pics in a few days, once my girl gets back with her digi.
