Does it with. When I got the car I put in 87, but then a couple months ago started putting in 89 and the carbon built up on the exhaust on both.

this is what octane is.... octane-- how fas tthe burn rate is higher the octane the slower the burn. now some cars are ment for 91 octane some are meant for 89 or 87. in your case try putting 91 with techron. we did a couple tests at school with it and it cleans alot of carbon build up. its actually pretty good.

seafoam worked really well for me, you can put it everywhere gas tank, oil (100 miles before change), intake everywhere. i saw a big difference in performance and engine operation after i did it on my 01 cl

there was about two or three threads on here about this. i know that higher octane should last longer but next week will be the real test, im going to do some fuel saving mods.

i read that seafoam will clean out the carbon but wont it also open up holes that are plugged up with carbon which will cause more leaks?

um..... no- thats not how octane works- it has to do with the compression ratio/ timing for the spark to ignite. High performance cars need high octane because they ran at a higher compression ratio, and low octane would ignite too soon.
Thats why anything but 87 in our stock f22/ 23, even 3.0s is a waste of money
