Whooped up on an RSX..

I know this should be in racing section, but i dont know how many guys go over there, so i'm putting it here.

Last night on I-4, came across a white lowered RSX (non type-S). Also had some gunmetal rims on it. Came up behind me, and flashed me. I'm always up for a good highway run, the CL seems to do a lot better racing from like 60 than from a stop. Either way, i drop into D3, open up the nitrous bottle, and get ready. 3 honks, and we both floor it. No contest, i left him behind. The nitrous made all the difference. Had like 3 cars on him. All he saw were taillights and TV's

if your racing on the freeway, keep it in D3 till you hit 6200 rpms (or whatever your car red lines at), and then put it in D4...otherwise your car will go to D4 during 3rd at around 5300 rpm's....

Basically, D3 just puts you in a lower gear, so you have higher revs. When i do that, i usually take my foot off the gas pedal while shifting back into D4.

As for the Type-S....i dont know, extra 40 HP than me stock, plus probably a lot less weight..even with the N20, it'd be a toss up.

isn't the auto RSX and manual RSX BOTH 5-speed? so it shouldn't matter right? The Auto in theory should be faster unless the manual is a very good driver

or jsut a fairly good driver, but less power is lost through manual transmissions... plus they weigh less? just a guess

WAit a second. Maybe it's just me, but when my car is at 5200 RPMs I'm alreayd going 110 MPH. I woulnd't see much fo a point in shifting a few rpms later unless you are REALLY going at it.

I have a 3.0 btw, and I jsut avoided getting a ticket while going 110 in a 65. I am so fucking lucky, but I had to trade a little dignity for it. It was well worth it though.

btw. If I were to get nitrous for my 3.0 would I ahve to get reinforced engine parts? Or are those only needed to prolong the life of the engine.

the only way i see a cop letting someone go in a situation like yours is if he makes you run back and forth across the highway naked. IMO

lol, no it was nota sexually related act or anything, I just had to act stupid, like I knew nothing about cars, and I freaked out a little, I was already freaking out, but I embelished a little to hopefully get some sympathy. Needless to ay, I'm not gonna go that fast ever again.... without a radar detector.

RSX-S should have no problem beating 3.0's same power rateing but the car is lighter.

I beat 2 rsx-s's from a stop. Both had good launches and decent drivers. I was stock and the two rsx's were stock also.
