Hi all... It's been a while since i've been on here... Hope everyone and everyone's car is doing well... I got my car up to 225,000 miles and i'm done with it. I think the front berrings (sp) need to be replaced but other than that, it runs good. The hood is a little bent and the front bumper got hit by a couple curbs but the rest is great.. The leather is great- Driver's seat is a little worn (225,000 miles of use!!) but i commuted alone so the passenger side and backseat are in good shape. Transmission was rebuilt by Aamco in September of 2004 ($5000 or so)... I'll get a few pics up this weekend but i'll take some offers now... I'm looking for about $1000 but make me an offer.. Although something is a little loose up front (i don't feel like fixing it even though it's probably simple), it'll take you home.

Any questions ask... If nobody here wants it, it's going in the auto shopper. I will not part it out- whole car or nothing!!

Quick info:
Green, 1997, leather interior, tokico 5 way adjustables, DC sports exhaust, stock wheels- 16inch, underdrive crankshaft pulley, i don't remember what else... Springs....

Nice to see another high mileage CL. Mine has just hit 260,000 and i am guessing it made the same commute time and time again as yours. My mom drove it from South jersey (Medford) to Manhattan everyday for a year and a half (100K in 10 months)

Damn, I would so buy it if it was manual. Wonder if it'd cost much to convert that into stick along with the h22? Anyone here convert their auto 4banger into a manual for a fair price?

i think the auto to 5-speed conversion for the average joe would cost around a grand, including parts and labor- give or take a few hundred dollars.

yup.. when i had gotten into an accident a while back, i hopped a curb and slammed into a concrete pillar that was laying on its side. i ended up cracking the casing of the trans. i made up a bs story to the insurance company and they were going to replace it. at the time, i was just about to get my h22 swap and 5 speed conversion done. so i told the insurance company to cut me a check so i could take care of it by myself- and they did. i ended up being 3300 richer

u should search for posts on this swap..there are many write ups about it..u can find out what problems u may run into..but done by a good mechanic this is a very easy swap.

I didn't clean it and i'm so lazy (time lacking) that i just took the pics with my phone and emailed them to myself- sorry about the quality. If you want more pictures, let me know and i can whip out the digital camera but the only physical problems are in that first picture- the scraped bumper cover and that turn signal isn't exactly bolted in (it's tied.. HA!) The inside of the car looks like a 50,000 mile car. I'm having second thoughts about getting rid of it so quickly. I could probably put some time into it and get it rolling smooth and get a few more $$ for it. As i said before, either the berrings or the CV Joint (or both) need to be replaced and it's just about that time for the timing belt but other than that, i have had no problems.

Oh and i said "about $1000"... Kelly Blue Book says it's worth $4000 in Fair condition. ("Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition.)

$2000 will make up my mind

I don't want to leave anything out...
I mentioned the hood being slightly bent- if you notice the gap between the hood and the fender is a little more distinct. Also, the top of the radiator has a little crack. I tried using a high temp cement (or something) on it but it didn't work. I'm sure there's something out there that would stop the leak. Also, the stearing wheel has some "pimp wear." Other than that, the two front tires are fairly new. I think they're only a few months old.

On another note, i have Thule's if somebody wants them. Set up for a 97 CL!! 2 bike racks, snowboard attachments, and surfboard attachments- locks. Any offers??
