im doing it right now. i took off all the side skirts rear and front and i sanded them down and cleaned them up good. im gonna put some bulldog adhesive promoter on there, like 2-3 coats, then some primer, then like 3-4 coats of paint, and like 2-3 clear coats. hopefully this works. its supposed to. wondering if anybody with a 97 cl painted theirs and if so how and how is it holding up. and also what paint u used.

i heard a while ago that the paint doesn't stick real well, but i'm sure that if you prepare it, it'll come out ok. i asked a guy at the local body shop and he said that he could do it, but he wanted like $250.

 

Yeah, I've also read that the paint doesn't stick too well. Hopefully the guys that painted it will hop in here and chime in!!

well i painted mine. came out good. u just have to take ut time and sand them down smooth cuz once u paint it is quite visible any lines from sanding. i made sre i did it good for the side moldings. well after i put everything back on my car ill keep u informed how it holds up. ill aslo put it on my how to section on my website.

I painted mine as soon as I got the car in 97. It's holding up nicely, good preparation is the key and sounds like you did it the right way, same and I did. I used RM paint with flex additive, bulldog also for prep.

yeah i used the spray adhesive promotor but now i got bulldog adhesive, flex agent, and tie something all in one. it cost more money and has to be painted on w/ a brush. the moldings take a beating. too bad i already did the one side. oh well 1/2 the car is the spay the other half is the other stuff. ill see what happens.

I need some cash for mods, it's like an addiction. I'm debating back and forth whether I want to lower the car or get a system, one is for eyes, the other for ears.
I love music and a good system, on the other hand I like the performance and look of lowering...
