Take a wild guess what this thread is about I wanna get purple tint headlights and wanted to see if anyone has Showoff Krypton Xenon Purple lights. How are they? Bright enough? Too purple? Close to HID? Thanks

theyre only slight purple tint..i havent really seen my car from far far distance, but it seems white with a lil purple tinge.. they are pretty bright thought, brighter than my piaa plasma's but the piaas were more purple.

 

sounds good to me. how much do they look like HID? Why did you get rid of the PIAAs? Too purple? So the Showoffs don't look corny or anything?

 

I still have the ShowOff Krypton/Xenon 9005s (high-beams) and the 168s (corners). I had the 9006s (low-beams) before I got my HIDs. I don't have the purple ones, but shine bright white, with a tinge of blue.

I really liked them, but found that they (9006s) didn't last very long. However, the 168s are still going strong after 5-6 months.

 

I want those exact same lights, the purple ones. Where can I buy them? Also what are the light codes for 1998 2.2 CL's? I just got my car yesterday ***doing the happy dance*** and I'm still learning. Does anyone know what the lights are for the front headlights, high beams, side lights, etc.?

 

Here's a set on eBay:eBay. There are many more. Do a search on eBay for "showoff krypton purple", and you'll find many for sale.

9006 = low beam

9005 = High beam

H3 = factory fog light

168 = corner lights (upper and lower) and rear license plate bulbs

7440 = turn signals

 

I just got a set off a dutch auction on ebay for $15 Anyone have pics with these bulbs on the car?

 

Check your owners card. Either you have a 97 2.2 or a 98 2.3. They didn't make 2.2s in 98

 

i have showoff's in white not purple, they're pretty decent, just can't find showoff corner bulbs. The only think i don't like is the blue tint in my headlights in the daytime.

 

FYI guys! I just ordered the kryton purple 9006's off of eBay.

Total price was $35.99 with shipping. I had these exact same bulbs in my last Acura (97 3.5 RL, black) and they looked pretty hot. I think with the white 2.3CL I have now, it'll look even better! Plus I was planning on a purple underbody neon kit as well so it would go well.
I was thinking of going with the purple for the low beams and maybe green for the high beams. Why? Dunno, just to be different?

I'll let you all know how they come out.

 

Anyone found either the clear corner bulbs (the ones BESIDE the headlights) or turn signal clear bulbs? I don't necessarily need kyrpton showoff's (I've got the Silverstars in and I like them) but I do want something other than yellow in the corner and the bulbs under the signals I want to do something with.

Here's one option: autodynamic.com. 7440 for turn signal bulbs.

You can also check eBay. 168 or 194 (dual filament) will work for the corner lights (upper and lower).

 

whoa! We can get krypton colored bulbs for our front turn signals? Whats the bulb # for the front turn signals? I know I should know this crap but I JUST got my CL on Monday 5/6 so it'll take me a few to learn!

 

I've not seen the ShowOff Krypton/Xenon bulbs in the 7440 size (turn signals). The only reason I even got the 168s (upper and lower corners) was because my cousin brought them back from Japan. I've not seen them for sale here in the US.

 

how long does the showoff krypton last??? I bought the blue tint kind off somewhere and didn't last very long, i want to get a quality one this time..
