White CL Tint %
Tinting my windows on my Taffeta White 1998 3.0 CL. The seats are a Tan Leather. The legal percentage here in Oregon is 35% in all places except the front can only have the top six inches tinted. Getting your guys' opinion here. I'm debating on a 25% tint. I don't want to go too illegal, but I want it fairly dark, because I'm going for that White/Black combo on my car. If theres any other opinions out there on this, that'd be nice. I got a quote for about $175 for all of the windows. Oh, and I'm planning on doing the same tint all the way around, cuz frankly, different tint looks ghetto to me lol.
Also, if someones got pics with different tint percentages that arent black leather, that'd be cool, thanks.
NO I COULD NOT FIND SOME REASONABLE TINT PICTURES IN THE SEARCH! SO DON'T TELL ME TO LOL.

Many cops over here don't bother with tint. I could look around for some more shops for better prices, that was just a shop that I know does like 5 star work. A lot of places around here will do illegal tint, cuz they know if they don't you'll just get it somewhere else. It's all competition in this economy. As far as the inspection, you need to pass it if you get pulled over for tint or what?

I have 35% all around, love it! Nothing on the front though. We have inspection stickers that need to be removed yearly with a razor, so it would be useless.

I would love to do 5% all around but man cops around here are bad about it. No inspection stickers in NC as they are ran through your registration now. If your state is like NC when you go for inspection they read your tint with a meter and if it is to dark they fail u

Anyway I been lookin around and got estimates from 3 other spots and I saw from 170-190. All of these shops offer 15%, 20%, 35%, but no 25%. Might just ball out and go 20% and try not to get raped by the swine.

well, 35% is what i have and I love it, I want to go darker but haven't because I really don't feel the need to since 35 looks good enough, 20 is too dark, I'd do 25 or 30 if I were you

Yeah, I guess I just gotta go around n find that shop that has 25 or 30 cuz nobody I've called has it. Anyone got a picture with 25 or 30 on here. Preferably non-black interior.

+1 on 35%. Gets the job done for me and so far *knock on wood* I have not been hassled for it. Max in NY is 70%. I could probably go darker since I have the light interior, but this works just fine. It's quite dark when it rains out.

Just bought my Crystal Clear Front Bumper Lights too. Gonna add a nice touch with that dark tint.
Im gonna give a few places a call tomorrow and see what they can do for me. I'll consider going up to southern Washington if no place around me in Portland can do a 25% or 30%.

This place I called today named HighLine Customs said they'd do the SunTek Carbon Film for 25% or 30% for $150. The guy sounded like he really wanted me to do it lol. After I asked him about the warranty on it, and if it purples or bubbles hes like "THIS FILM HAS BEEN TESTED IN THE MAHAVI DESERT! WE HIGHLY RECCOMMEND, AND DON'T SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS" lol. But overall it did sound legit. Anybody have this type of film? and how do you like it?

I have 20% on the front windows of my black CL and 5% on the back 3 windows. Personally, I love it. The fronts are dark enough for people to not be able to see in, but are still light enough that I can see out of the windows with ease (takes a little while to get used to though). And there's not too much of a difference between the 20% and the 5% on the rears. You can see it a bit, if you're within a couple feet of the car, but it's not too bad. My whole setup was like $180 or something.
Regardless of where you go to get the work done, actually go into the store and look at the product before you buy. Also, if possible, talk to the installers/tinters, and look at the cars their working on to make sure it's quality work before paying for anything...
