Ever since i installed a K&N drop-in, my car makes a whistling noise whenever i step on the gas......especially around 3000-3500 rpm's then you cant hear after that because the engine noise drowns it out. Why would it do this and should i be concerned? i.e. Should i take it to the dealer or some shit? Just wondering if you guys have heard of anything like this.

i used to have a k&n drop in filter but i never heard the whistling sound. are you sure you closed the airbox all the way?
also check a little ways dtowards the intake manifold. the airbox connects to the rubber intake tube, the conection is only through tightness, not clamps. make sure that the tubes didn't separate at that point.
thats all i can think of... so far.

 

I know exactly what you are talking about... my car has done that since the day I test drove it... they said its normal, I guess some of the '97's did it... but its kinda cool, almost sounds like a turbo spooling up.

 

if u take it to ACURA and they find notin wrong ur out $80 so only go there as a last resort
