Where are the VIN's located?

Okay I have to go pass the VIN verification crap on my CL with the CHP and I'm trying to find the VINs on the hood, fenders, and doors, but can't seem to find any. The thing is, the hood and fenders look original, not replaced. So where SHOULD they be located? It could be that they were painted over because the car was damaged and fixed before I bought it. So can someone help me out?

If you're facing the windshield from the front of the car, the VIN number is in the bottom right corner of the windshield.

Ok but what about the ones on the hood, fenders, doors, etc. Should something be there as well?

um i dont think the VIN's are printed on the fenders or doors, since those things can be replaced. there should be a spot on the firewall in the engine bay area, not sure which side.

From what I've heard, the VINs are also printed on the hood, fenders, doors, etc. so the CHP can see if the parts you have are original and if they're not, then you need paperwork to prove that they were purchased and not stolen. Is that true?

Okay I called the dealer and he gave me a number of Acura Services. I talked to the guy there and he said that the VIN is always under the windshield and on the door, but he's not sure about the other ones. I have the VIN under the windshield but can't find anything on the door. So can someone post a picture or anything to help me see WHERE exactly it is on the door? Thanks in advance.

Each part doesn't have a VIN - coast is clear to use all your stolen CL parts.

I don't think you really understand the purpose of a VIN. VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number. Therefore, it's to identify the car itself. There is no reason to have a VIN on the car's parts simply because you could decide to change the hood because you don't like the one you have, it may not be OEM. That has nothing to do with the actual car's identification.

EXAMPLE: Our 2000 camry has these stickers on the doors, fenders, and hood with the VIN printed on them

Now I just got off the phone with the Acura Services and they told me that my car has a VIN under the windshield, on the doorjam, and under the hood.

Sooo

Here's my doorjam

Here's the hood

As you can see, I got nothing there. Should I be concerned about it or not? I heard that the CHP has the right to remove car parts that have no proof of being legally purchased (VINs or receipts).

Well, do you think I'm screwed for not having those stickers or do you think the CHP won't give me any problems with that?

The car was in an accident before I bought it and the driver-side rear quarter was replaced. I got the VIN under the hood and on the firewall so I'm calling CHP on tuesday and setting up an appointment. Wish me luck.

WTF is CHP inspecting your car for anyway? That makes no sense!

Good luck.

well, that's why it's missing! the accident should show on your vehicle record.

The car's got a salvage title and that's why they need to inspect it and make sure that it has no stolen parts and everything is ok and blah blah blah.
