I believe there is not a fuel filter perse. There is a 'sock' on the fuel pump in the tank. My '98 Accord did not have a filter either.

 

there is the sock, yes...... but there is a fuel filter. when you're looking at the engine it's on the right side of the intake manifold on the bottom. follow the fuel line that goes into the fuel rail towards the back of the car. you should see a big black canister. its in there.

 

so are you trying to say that the big "black cannister" is what makes the fuel better >

thanks 1gencl. Do you know if I need to buy a new black canister thing that they have for like 20 bucks or is there a filter element inside the black canister that is replacable?

 

nah.... the filter is in there. it's in there on the 97's...... maybe it's different on the 98's. (honda is weird like that)
