when it rains..

Whenever it rains and I'm driving the car,it makes this peculiar sound whenever I accelerate. The sound only happens when I accelerate...it is a very difficult sound to describe, it sounds terrible...it sounds almost like water interfering with the acceleration of the car. Does anyone have an idea what could cause this?

Maybe it's one of your belts. Maybe it's kinda loose and with the water it makes it slip. I

That'd be my thought. If it makes the sound in park/neutral then it's likely a belt. Maybe A/C even. What's the specifics with your ride?

Does it sound like a coffee percolator? Does the sound increase with your speed (but only when accelerating)? If so I've experienced the same thing when it rains or when the ground is wet and I was wondering what the hell it was.

Yeah kind of. It's coming from under the car...the sound is so hard to decribe...

The sound I hear sounds just like a percolator and it comes from the front left where the intake is. I haven't heard the sound in quite a time so I don't know what's going on with it. I would only notice it if I had my sunroof cracked open so it wasn't super loud. I don't see any way that water could be getting into the intake (stock). I'm damn curious if anyone knows what it is.

The sound does not seem to be limited by my position on the road (turning or straightaway).
