When I reverse rpms drop lowwww

For some reason, every now and then first start up and when i put in reverse rpms drop to about 300 almost and it seems like the car is about to stall. My car is an automatic. Anyone have any insight? I'm going to change the spark plugs this weekend with NGK V-power...

It is not that your tansmission is slipping, the car has a specific idle setting for when the car is in gear and when it is in park, and when it is in reverse. This is controled by the ecu and is actuated by control servos in your fuel delivery system. It may be that a vacume line is blocked or that a sensor is not giving the correct idle information to the computer when you put the car in reverse. This same system also controls idle when your a/c comes cycles.

Thanks, I wasn't wanting to step on anyone's toes.

Has the computer given any codes?

Well mine does that right when I start the car. The needle reads like 0 RPM then it slowly climbs up, all this happening in P. If it's really low, I put it into gear and it's completely normal again.
