Wheel Alignment/Camber Problem
Ive got a 97 2.2 CL. Recently(in the last year) Ive had to purchase new tires because the insides are wearing bald. Ive had it realigned and fixed the camber. Went to have tires rotated, and it happened again(tire company is making a killing off me). Had it realigned AGAIN, and just noticed today when I had my tires turned toward curb, that both are balding on the inside again! Seems that the camber keeps falling out of whack. I have no mods, not lowered, nothing. Anybody else had this problem? Ive got a 90 day warranted on the realign and am going to take it in again. Doesnt solve the problem of having to buy 2 new tires. Help..

alos if the tire is not the right sive it will mess up ur camber like lowering it would. I should have 225/40-17's but I have 205/40-17's and the camber is off one degree in back and .5 in the front. Make sure the tiers ur buyin tiers u need double check the size, Oyu can reference it with an 97 accord.

Dont know what the specs are, will get them this time. I called today and I will get a free realignment under warranty. The tire size should be correct, but Ill double check it. Would a camber kit do any good for something like this? Ive had the tires rotated/balanced, etc.

once the tires start to wear a certain way they will continue to wear like that even if you put the camber/alignment back w/in spec. Best is to get brand new tires and then go and get the alignment/camber done right away.

CLPower, the problem is that I have now done that twice. Within a month, its out of alignment already and my tires are already worn unevenly. Guess no one has had this reoccuring problem like I have. Thanks for the input guys.

perhaps there is some frame damage that your camber is in specs but the whole frame is twisted so having alignment done doesn't fix the problem. is our control arm bent or something like that? accident where the wheel fell off?

I would recommend doing a carfax check on the car unless you are the only owner it might have been wrecked and you dont know it. Sounds like frame damage or something more serious, just check out all the suspension parts and make sure nothing is bent or otherwise damaged. There is no camber adjustment on factory hondas so if someone told you they adjusted it and you dont have a camber kit on it they lied. There are some specialty alignment shops that can help you though and I dont mean national chains I mean mom and pop places or shops that do custom alignments on lowered cars. They can bend your a arms and other peices to get it back right if that is the case. Find out where people with lowered cars in your area go and you will get a better alignment even on a car that is not lowered. These shops care more about their work and are typically experts in their area of work.
