Hey, ive got a 97 3.0 with the OEM alarm and recently its been re-setting itself and i donno why....

Let me explain....

(Ive got a Dihard Battery and im runnin 2 12" subs, a 500W amp, 7" motorized TV & DVD and JUST RECENTLY....HID's....

(it seems like this started happening after i installed the HIDS..)

Heres whats goin on... While im using the car, running mult. electronics dosnt seem to drain the battery but what does happen is, I have my alarm set up where when i lock the car, the clear corners flash and it *beeps*. Well recently when i go to lock the car from the remote, it wont beep and the lights wont flash....then i have to re-set the alarm (from the remote) so it beeps again...it will work for a few times, (flashing lights and beeping) and then next time, it will do the same thing...it wont flash or beep and i have to reset the remote&alarm again....whats going on?? Anyone know??

 

this may be a silly question but, are your HIDs the real shit or are they the bulbs. if they are the bulbs then check your wiring for melted wires from the headlight housing to the firewall because if the HIDs are high wattage bulbs it will melt the wire starting at the weakest insulation.

 

Same thing happened to me - change the battery in the remote. Fixed my problem - the remote actually keeps the beep or not memory.

OK WHAT THE FAWK!?!?! The back of the keyless remote says Battery 2025....so i went and bought a Cr2025 battery and put it in and nothing worked...looked at the old bettery that was in the remote and it was a CR2035!?!?!


So what the hell!?! On the back of the remote, it says use a CR2025 BUT in the remote was a CR2035....(and the 2025 DIDNT work!?! Whats going on!?!

 

Whatever the battery that was that is in there is the one you should use to replace it.
