Everytime i start my car its idles at 1,500rpm for like 2-3 minutes then drops down to 1,000 (any time of the day) is this normal? what causes this?

dunno bout everyone else, but mine does that too. starts out at 1500 then a few minutes moves its way to 1250... then after about 5 minutes or so 1000 rpms... i thought 1500 was high at first, but got used to it. ??

Its the engine warming up, when you pop it into gear the rpm's will drop down from the higher idle. This is only applicable if the engine temp is cold.

happens with mine - the colder the day, the higher the RPMs....one day it actually started at 2K.....i was like whoa....that's frickin cold!

It is to prevent denotation when it is cold.

mine does it too, kinda shakes at the low RPMs, i've been wanting to adjust it higher

Mine does it in the morning the most its usually about 60 degreez but it still idles at like 1.25-1.5 all day long when its like hot outside (80 degreez), also is it bad to put into reverse when the car is at high idle? and when i put my car in reverse from the idle it kinda shakes...Normal?

Mine goes from like 1500 to 1000 in like 1 second intervals... It started after I got my tranny swap done. It only does it once in a while, but pretty much every day. It may be because I'm still using the automatic ECU... Anyone know anything about this?

that happens to all honda engines,
i can remember my dad had a 95 accord when they came out,
when i would drive the car on cold days it would sound really loud,
as soon as it warmed up
the rpm's came back down again.

if u guys are rockin an intake the effect is gunna be exagerated even more .... especially on cold days ...

rodxx if ur car is that high all day in those temps then ur gunna want to get it checked out ... u gettin shitty gas milage too ?

mace... like it usually happens when i havent drove my car recently like if i drove like 20 min ago then start it...it idles normal, but like after not driving for hour or more it idles high no matter what temp. And oh yea what ever happen to ur rims?

does anyone here besides me idle at below 1000 rpms according to my apexi vafc i idle at a constant 746 when the car is running good and warmed up if not i run mid 1000's or so
