Whats tires for stock rims?
I've been having alot of traction problems in the rain lately and even have a slight whobble now while driving and think its time to replace my tires.
I've called around and been getting quotes from 550-700$ to replace my tires. To me this seems somewhat overpriced just for tires on stock rims... if I have to drop that much why not just get a rims/tires package for not that much more..
Is this a reasonable price for stock tire replacement. I just want something fairly cheap to get me around, don't need a performance tire.
Let me know, thanks
michael

I got mine for a 2.2, 16", from tirerack.com. They are Kumho HP4 716. Mine is just a driver and they seem to ride fine, good in rain. The best part is they're only $60.00 each.
Good luck, Dan

yeah I was going to say kumhos are decent tires and way cheaper than 500 bucks I thought you can get them online on ebay for like 250 or something.
anyway if you were wondering the stock tire size is 205/55-16

thanks alot guys, those from tirerack seem like alot better deal for what I'm looking for.
I doubt it would cost that much to take them somewhere and get them put on and aligned... what has this cost people to get done and where did you guys go (if a national chain)?

I got mine mounted, balanced with lifetime rotation for about $50.00 at Walmart. I didn't get an alignment cause my tires had been wearing fine they were just dry rotted. I took my car and they told me they couldn't mount they "H" rated tires because the OEM tires are "V" rated. So I asked them if they could do it if I just bring in the wheels, they were fine with that, kind of a pain in the butt, but the price was right.

Damn straight, just went in to replace all 4 tires, and the guy recommended the Falkens - they are great, handling, traction, i am very happy, i paid a bit more than you, $100 mounted a blanced each, but well well worth it

if i were you i would not buy it online unless they got warranty on them....i got some tires for my dads work truck at costco...which wasnt that bad.....about 60 each for some seasonal tires and warrenty on them(which was included and installed)......cause i know most online do not offer warranty and if you hit a bump on the road and it causes a lump in your tire...no warranty...you godda replace it again. just my

i bought Aurora's for my stock rims for winter. they were like 60 bucks each and are pretty decent in the rain and snow. i got 205-50-16 though, i like 50 better than 55.

i had 2 sets of Kumho Esctra 712's (wear quick but handle nice, no squeekin around turns, great in rain unless you run them bald). Currently im on a set of Continental Extremes (wears slower than the Kumho, gets a little squeeky around sharp turns, good in the rain).
