Whats going on with my HID's?

Just this past week or two everytime I start the light show (turn them on) my left headlight flickerz like 10 times and getz brighter and brighter. But my right one just does it like normal. It never use to do this Like it will take like 10 sec and just keep on flickering. Not the usual flicker when you start them up. Is my kit going bad?

One more thing my friend "DC 2 R" was driving my car last night cause I was a little , and he put the key into the door. To open it obviously. When he did this both my viper and my stock alarm decided to go crazy for like 2 minutes and I couldn't turn it off until it finished! I dont have the old remote on my keys, but I guess it would make sense to put it on there. Well anyways I kept trying to start the car put it kept locking up and then after 2 minutes It all turned off swhooo. While the alarm was going off i guess the stock alarm my HID's must have turned on and off atleast 25 times. HOW BAD IS THAT FOR THEM? It was never really a problem cause when the viper goes off the headlightz dont flash. Is 97's the only year when the headlightz flash?

Mine flickers on startup but after that nothing. Could be that the bulbs arc'ed because of the alarm flashing the headlights on/off rapidly. I would take it to the shop that installed your alarm and ask them to hook up the flashing unit to the hi beams instead of the low beams.

Well its the stock alarm that went off because my friend put the key in. Not the aftermarket alarm (well that went off to) but the regular alarm made the headlights flash like 100x.

Your starter or ballast could be bad. I am thinking the ballast.

EXTREMELY BAD! more then likely the bulbs or ignitors are screwed. i would start with the bulb and try to isolate the prob. put the good bulb on the other side.

you should never turn on and off xenons until the bulb is completley warmed up. 20-30 secs. rapid flashing will more then likely result in damage.

You can disarm your factory alarm by finding the blue wire that's on your factory alarm and sending that to ground. That way only your viper is the one that is working, and not risking the chance of setting your factory alarm off.

Or, get rid of the stock alarm totally, and splice into the stock harness. Most of the reputable shops will remove the stock brain.

This might be a dumb question, but i really dont know much about how alarm systems operate. If you wanted to disconnect the factory alarm would it be possible to just remove the brain under the passenger seat, or would this interfear with the lock/unlock and other stuff.
