For me i like Pioneer's. but anything now with a aux port is fine with me. Installation i think is fair is like 40 bucks at most. But what you can do is that you can go to best buy or car installation place talk to one of the guys over there that wants to do a side job on it. might be a lil bit cheaper

I have a Pioneer and a Kenwood in my Honda. Both are good. I give the edge to the Kenwood IMO

i would expect to pay closer to $75 if it's thru a legit shop or maybe $50 on the side. I installed my own kenwood headunit 2 years ago and it was a very simple diy and my first attempt at a project like that.

kenwood, alpine, pioneer, in no specific order.
Im fine with my kenwood going strong after 4 years. meanwhile ive seen two alpines crap out in my sisters celica in about that same time frame. and they were both triple the cost of mine. If your keeping stock speakers etc any of the top brands will do

I haven't been selling/installing radios for several months now, but at that time Pioneer was selling garbage. They even went so far as to skimp out on the wiring harness, it's some tiny 22 awg wire now. Not to mention the increasing number of DOA units I encountered from them - something has changed with Pioneer. Sony radios sounded better and were better quality, sorry to say it. When they switched their DAC and mosfets about 2 years ago, their sound quality drastically changed. Alpine hasn't changed, Kenwood's menus / interface is still garbage. JVC is still JVC.

If I were to need to buy a new radio these days, it would be Alpine first choice, Sony second if I need a good low-priced unit.

If your buying online I would purchase from crutchfield
link for a 99 3.0 cl
http://www.crutchfield.com/g_300/Car...s.html?tp=5684
Many radios to chose from. Im partial to upper line pioneer myself
They include the basic dash kit and wiring harness free over $119 purchase and give a printout DIY guide as well
I think this is your best deal if you think you can tackle the job. Its not too difficult
Just connect the blue/blue white wire in the harness if your cl has bose...........

hey thanks for the advice Jims -

I spoke to one of the reps at crutchfield and he broke down all the information for me. I think its a great site to purchase from for sure.

I however went to walmart and picked it up for a really low price, I could not resist -

I think I rather leave the install to a pro for this -

My experience with Sony has always been good - I think are of excellent quality -

although Iam thinkin' I can do it myself with a dash kit handy -
I dont know yet - what do you think ?

ill post pics of the install -

I have Kenwood in my M3 and a Sony Xplode system in my CL. Sony interface is better but Kenwood sound it better to me. Alpine in my boy's Maxima is better than both. If you don't wanna do it yourself and are willing to come to NY, I have a guy that can do it for real cheap. I paid an insanely low price for my headunit w/bluetooth install.

Yeah, I got mine for $109 shipped from ebay and installed it myself. It has great sub controls and the bluetooth for phone calls works flawlessly!

I feel that SONY is a good quality brand - they make everything !

I got the sony cdx-gt65 U model - with usb and mp3 - ipod ports - and advance sound engine and capability of 35,000 colors to choose from on the unit -

Ok, I got the radio - come to find out I gotta order a radio install kit

I found one on Amazon.com - comes with a wiring harness and radio install kit for about 23 bucks - shipped.

when I get it .. im gonna install -
