I am sick of my 97 CL 3.0 automatic transmission shift problem. It has the same typical problem as everyone elses......harsh, jerking shifting at part throttle. I do all of my own mechanical work, i.e. engine building, transmission rebuilding, etc., so I can do the work, but I have never worked on a CL auto trans. Does anyone know what components typically fail in these transmissions to cause this shift harshness? Is it shift solenoids, line pressure issues, etc? I am looking for responses from people that actually wrench on their CL's or have first hand knowledge of specific component failures in 1st gen CL transmissions that lead to these drivability issues.

your best bet, swap out the slushbox with a 5spd like i'll be doin sometime

What manual transmission bellhousing fits the CL 3.0 v6 bolt pattern? What flywheel matches the bolt pattern on the 3.0 v6 crank? I am not aware of any........

1st - welcome to the board....
2nd....the only manual tranny i've heard of on a V6 Honda is from a Acura Legen V6....good luck trying to find one of those....there's only been a couple (i mean very very few) of those successfully done...do a search on manual tranny on V6 on the board....there's been a couple posts in the past
