Question What does this sound like, opinions please?

After work I hop in my 97 cl and start it up, it didn't start up smoothly like it does every other day, it hesitated a bit, i turned it off, and started it again, same thing.

So I wait a few minutes and try to start it again it wouldn't kick over, i wait a bit longer and then it finally kicks over, without risking it not starting i drove home, once i got home, i turned it off and back on again, it hesitated a bit but started, then i tried again, each time getting worse, does this sound like the starter or battery? or possibly my alternator?

I need some mechanical advice!, thanks!

It could be numerous things. The first thing you should check is the battery. You could just have a bad battery. While you are there check the posts of the battery terminal and the battery cables. Clean them off…you can use baking soda and water. Also use a wire brush. It might not be making a connection.

I called a mechanic i was referred to by a friend who did work on my old car, he gave me good prices, but he was busy so i got a quote from one of his associates, i guess not knowing me, he said $335 CDN for a rebuilt starter installed!!

and $515 for timingbelt, water pump and he said our cars have another belt, so that would be replaced too........i think im ging to "TRY" to drive there and speak to the owner directly, hopefully my starter kicks over one last time lol..
