Coupe Luxury
Touring Luxury
I don't know about the RL, but we shouldn't necessarily assume that every model designation is actually an acronym. I don't think the NSX, RSX, SLX, or MDX stand for anything, for example.

No they do stand for something (well atleast CL, TL, & RL). When we bought the car awhile back the dealership told us what they all stood for. I know i have the CL(contemporary luxury) and RL (refined luxury) right but the TL might be touring luxury like you said or maybe traditional luxury. I forget that one.Originally posted by Iceman:

I got my "Coupe Luxury" from the dealer, just like you got "Contemporary Luxury". I guess someone who's more in the know needs to clear this up!
1st gen CL ROCKS!!!
When I bought my CL a few weeks ago and I brought in for service, the Acura dealer told me that CL stands for "Contemporary Luxury"!!! Sounds Great!

You guys are close, but incorrect. I used to sell Hondas and Acuras. The real names are:
CL-Contemporary Luxury
TL-Touring Luxury
RL-Rally Luxury
Those are the official names. Personally I think Honda's got everything assbackwards IMO.
