What did you pay for your new tranny?
My 3.0 is acting up on the tranny side of things. I have 87K miles on my 97. Im looking on how much I may be spending on getting it replaced/repaired. I know its gonna go soon. So what have you guys paid? I have seen upwards to 2500+ to repair!! Is this true!

2500 is rediculous. I had the tranny in my vette redone with a shift kit and higher torque converter to boot for under 2 G's. I would NEVER pay more than 1500 TOPS to have my CL tranny rebuilt

Hi, right now as I type this response I am getting my entire Transmission replace for my 97 3.0. Cottman Transmission is the shop that?s doing the job, its costing me about $3000 to get everything done. They are going to give me remanufactured Trans with all new parts inside along with a new torque converter and new solenoids. I went to other shops AAMCO and few mom and pop places and it was running about $3500 + tax. I know that I am still getting ripped off, but the problem is when you take your car to a Tran?s shop they charge you to take the Trans off and tell you what the problem is that runs anywhere from $400 to $500. And if you decide not to do the job they charge you on top of taking it down to put it back together and runs $800 to $900. So, if you decide to get it done try to find a place that can tell you what it may be before you get I inspected.
