Well, Flow Acura doesnt know "HELP"

Gah its been awhile since I have been on here! Okay heres the question, I have a 97 Cl 3.0, and I wanna change my keyless entry remote to that of a newer one! Has anyone done it! My thoughts where to remove the computer board from the old one and put it in the newer one, but I dont know if it will fit or not, I have not a clue and neither does my local Acura Dealer, "Flow Acura'!

This is the one I have,

This is the one I want to use,

I've done it. You take out the old board. Shave the board and the new case so that it fits into the new casing. Cut the rubber from the new keyfob so that it'll fit properly. The new rubber is one big piece if I remember correctly. You need to cut into a few pieces. Basically one piece for each button and a few extra pieces for stability.

Some of the problems I had was that either the button wouldn't work or the button would be in the pressed in position constantly. As long as you shaved the case+board properly all you need to do is adjust the rubber.

You can get certain 2nd gen remotes that will be compatible, you have to find ones with a similar FCC frequency, there's a write up somewhere on here about it
