warranty question

Does anyone know how long the warranty is on a 99 Acura CL2.3? I don't have my owners manual and the dealer told me it was 40,000 miles, 5 year but edmunds.com says 50,000 miles, 4 year. Also, if it is a 4 year warranty, then am I still good through the end of this year? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Are you 100% sure on that then? I'm confused why the dealership is trying to tell me otherwise. Hmmm, if I purchased it used, how do I find out the date of original purchase?

100% sure. The original Factory warranty is 4 years or 50K miles.

The dealer has an option to sell you an extended warranty beyond that.

Now, If you bought the car as a "Certified" Acura, they usually extend the factory warranty for another 12 months or 12K miles beyond the 4 years/50K miles.

I would definitely get your dealer to clarify what it is.

well when your check engine light comes on and the fix costs a couple hundred I'd rather get it done for free. Wouldn't you?

When I first got my car, the dealer told me it was only a 3 yr 36,000 miles warranty. When I was approaching 36,000 miles in my 2nd year I was so paranoid that I went to the dealer to get the final maintenance before the car went off warranty. That is when I was finally told the truth, 4 yrs, 50000 miles. My car just recently went off the factory warranty at 50K. I also got an extended warranty from AAA.

My Certified warranty is 18 months or a certain milage from the date of my purchase.
The powertrain on my Certified warranty runs 42 months or 100,000 miles from the date of my purchase.

If you bought it used and it has a Certified Warranty, they should have given you a card that states that kind of info.
