vtec malfunction cel

This is kind of an ongoing thing...I just bought the car (a 99 2.3) a month ago from a local new car dealer, and since then it's been in the shop for about two weeks. At first it was burning oil and when it got low causing a vtec malfunction code (P1259). The dealer sent it out and had new rings put in, along with new valves, valve seals, timing belt and water pump. I was psyched because the only thing I paid for was parts for the belt and pump. Now, however, I got it back and it's no longer burning out, but still throwing the vtec code. Any ideas? I'm taking it back to the dealership since it's still under their warranty, but I want to be educated in case they try to screw me.

Bad oil flow to top of the engine.

Damaged oil preasure sensor... Good possibility.

could be just unplugged. or wire could be stripped or ground out.. theres two oil pressure sensors.. one for the main engine oil light in the car.. and one for the vtec.
