vtec engagment

i have heard making your vtec engage faster will mess up your engine. is that true?

All vtec is is changing cam lobes with oil pressure. Both lobes on the cam are the same metallurgically and wont wear any different.

Now, if you lower the vtec engagement and dont compensate for it by adding more fuel (like putting a VAFC in and not tuning it) you risk running the engine lean.

Lowering VTEC with tuning....no worries on engine life.
