Hey everyone, My sister has a 96 Accord 4cyl and the thing idles like a MOFO! It just sits there and shakes real bad when its at a dead stop idling...why is this? What can i do to help it stop shaking and stop having a rough idle???

egr valve? or soem sort of valve..pcv .. dont remember what its called?

hmm...could be that a motor mount is busted. Causing the engine to idle uncontollably due to the lack of being tighltly secured?

 

check the spark plugs first, while the engine is running, pull each fuel injector connector apart one cylinder at a time. if the engine cuts off on every one each time you pull one then it could be a motormount but if the engine cuts off on all but one injector pullout, then whatever connector you have off when that engine still running thats the problem cylinder.

could be a timing belt? my 626 had a mis-aligned timing belt and it shook like a machine when in D at stop....in N it was not as bad
