There not even in the same league. Venom is basically plug and play; it advances your timing and that about it. VAFC is manually programmable to adjust your fuel curve and map as well as your vtec engagement and disengagement point. Vafc is going to take dyno tuning or at least someone with some knowledge to tune it correctly. Without proper tuning a vafc can do some damage to your car. In order to void any warranty a dealer must prove that the source of the malfunction was the cause of the problem.

any hp gains or dyno charts from the vafc???? Seems like the venom is kinda a waste in bang for your buck.

I have to have the venom400 on during daily driving.

It has been proven that the venom does nothing on the track.

But I swear, you can tell the difference when it is on while you are doing daily driving.

I have only dyno'd the car with everything on, not with the venom on or off. I've been thinking of switching over to the vafc.

I had my Venom for about a year. I could tell that there was a slight increase in torque. I tested it at the track, and found that it did NOT better my 1/4-mile times.

I've been considering getting the VAFC to help tune my nitrous install. I've decided to get the AEM (stand-alone) unit for my direct-port nitrous setup.

It depends on the tunning. Its not really a mod that is only there to gain HP. Its more of a tool to help you tune your car. In any case you'll feel the difference especially when vtec kicks in nice and early.

I agree 100%. I'll have one for sale, cheap, as soon as I get my ZEX installed.

JET -

Jet has a product not unlike the Venom. It claims that it changes feul maping, v-tech, and timeing. My guess is it will work better with mods also. Seems I heard that you can tell them what mods you have and they set up your ECU. You must send in your ECU and they replace it with anouther one, as I understand, and send it back. Anyone had experiance with this? You can read about it on the nopi web site under electronics.

I'm pretty sure that would be for an obd1 ecu. It is nearly impossible to modify an obd2 ecu like the ones our CL's have.

Yeah i remotely looked into jet. They say that they offer this service for our car. I am surprised no one on the forum has done this, or maybe we will find out they have. Anyway, one of my friends just got a 91 civic for a winter beater. Picked it up for $500 in shitty shape, and is changing everything. U name it, he is doing it. Prob gonna hit near 200 hp in that lil POS. But he sent out is ECU and is waiting for its return. Jet told him it must have gotten lost in the mail, on they way back to him, so they programmed a brand new ECU for him, for free! Nice service! I am gonna wait for the results, and then make a decision.
