Venom 400 HP?

Thinking of getting a venom 400. How much horsepower does that give? Is it really worth the buy? Hard to hook up? Going to the track in a couple of weeks, and i need that extra speed. Heard that it jerks alot though. Anyone with a manual transmittion have that problem? Thanks.

Gives less than 10 HP by the way.

If your asking what the best HP gain to money ratio is, it would have to be a nitrous kit without a doubt the biggest HP gain for the money.

yea... NOS certainly would be the cheapest way to get horsepower... but... i dunno about that... hear that it can screw up your engine. i think i'm just gonna stick with the conventional methods.. :P

Haven't had time to work on my car this week so hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to put the vafc back in problem free.

I only have a vafc and if you know how to use it, I would recommend the vafc simply because it is adjustable to your individual needs. It does a lot more than the venom 400 but it is a little more complicated than just turning on a venom 400. It requires some tuning of your fuel curve and vtec engagement for optimum performance.

I'm getting 13 HP on my 3.0.

$260.00 divided by 13HP = $20/HP for me.

Easy to install!

I don't have access to a dyno to "Tweek" a VAFC, or I might get one. For now, it's turn on the Venom, and let it rip!

I stand corrected the gain is more than 10 HP, my bad .

VAFC is a fun toy to play with

By the way lets heres the money to HP ratio on my N2O kit
$400 divided by 75HP = $5.30/HP
I don't think it gets better than that.

Agreed!

I'll probably be "spraying" in April or May.

zex was designed for a stock engine, check out www.zex.com

For the vafc you can usually get a good deal on a used on www.thepartstrader.com or honda-acura.net

Every single CL is SOHC unless you've done a swap.

It's not going to give you much more horsepower overall, but it will bend your power curve so that you get more horsepower on lower RPM. (Thus the "jerking" when you take off. ) I think it's best for automatic transmission cars since we cannot really control how wide open the throttle is on lower gears .
