Its not gonna be something someone can just give you. It is affected by each mod and each car varies. Best thing to do is spend an hour or so on the dyno.

you can not tune it yourself unless you have a dyno, the vafc is only good and useful when dynoed to get maximium results, i have one and i havent dynoed mine yet but i see osme difference by setting the vtec to engage quicker. if you need setting or more info on a vafc aol im me @ jgiguere17 and i can help you out as much as it can

no most shops have pre figureed average numbers they try and they start with a basic dyno then work they way up fine tuning it, the average place will charge 100 for a VAFC tuning

What if I was to tune it myself (given access to a dyno)? What numbers are there to change? I know this sounds retoddit, but I haven't studied up on this gizmo. I know what it does, but not how.

I would assume you read over the dynos and air/fuel info, and adjust to suit each time?

doing it yourself would not be wise due to that if you run to lean youcan fuck up your engine and if you run too rich you can flood your engine big time, i would leave it to the professionals and pay them to do it cause they know what they are doing

doinga butt dyno, like i have done before does not help and it ends up wasting you gas and money cause if you tune it in wrong and you dont have a air/fuel gauage to measure up with then your fucked, the VAFC if tuned right you can gain a lot in gas milage, i have heard that some gain close to 10 mpg more from dynoing it, but there is 2 ways to dyno it, for power or for gas milage, save some money and get both done then write the numbers down so you can do it yourself, but pay forit once but get the nubmers they set it to

if you want some more info on this, aol im me @ jgiguere17, im always down to talk cars and my vafc cause i love it and it make my engine roar when the vtec kicks in

most shops have a rate for tuning in a thing like a vafc controller, the local shop around here charges 100 for tuning a vafc to your liking, for power or mpg

97Acura3.0CL, what I meant was that I might have access to a real dyno to use. I'm pretty knowledgeable on engine tuning, just I don't know exactly what kind of changes this unit can make. Can it remember and switch between two settings (IE mpg or pwr)? I need to do some research lol (notice I sound like an idiot hehe). I'll hit ya up on aim sometime or you can give me a holla if you want. SN is the same as here. Thanks!
