V-Tech?

OK first of all this is the first vehicle I've had w/ V-tech. What exactly does V-Tech do? Where is the V-tech solenoid located in a 2.2Cl? Is there a way to tune it?

wow.

v-tech is a type of cordless phone.

vtec is whats on your car.

i couldnt tell you where the solenoid is, but dont bother trying to "tune it", in fact, please dont "tune" any of the things in your engine bay.

Don't Try to Understand IT.......
Don't Piss IT off........
Don't try and Fuck with IT.......
Don't Disturb IT....
Don't Try to Race IT.......
Just Represent IT and
Just watch IT SMOKE ALL COMPETITION!!

VTEC-DOHC OWNS ALL!

****the only tuning possible is a VTEC controller...don't bother with that until you learn a little bit more about your motor....****

That is a funny title. Anyway, don't tune it, leave it alone, if you wanna mess with it, buy a VAFC2 controller, they're like $300 on ebay.

"VTEC-DOHC OWNS ALL!"

And so does VVti, MIVEC, VANOS, S-VT, VVL, AVCS and every other practically identical variable timing system.

Vtec is not special or hi-tech. It could have been considered hi-tech in the early 90's but it is standard tech on almost every kind of car made by almost every car manufacturer.

Don't buy into the Vtec hype.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variable_valve_timing

This may be the first car you've ever owned with the Vtec flavor of VVT, but chances are you've driven a car that used VVT of some configuration or another.

You are correct. But VTEC still is the SHIT!!!!! What kinda car do you drive anyway?? We all have heard of the other variable timing systems, but ...if we liked those better than VTEC....we would all own other cars. SVT, MIVEC and all that other B.S. gobblesMEknobbin !!

How is Vtec any more a word than Mivec or Vanos? Sure "Vee Tek" sounds cool, and when I didn't know anything about cars I said retarded things like "Woah that car has VTEC! It must be fast!" But if you know anything at all about the boring world of variable valve/cam timing, Vtec isn't substantially any better or different than what most cars have today.

That's like naming your ABS system "ABTec" and hyping it's ultra awesome braking potential. "Dude that car has ABTec braking! HOLY CRAP IT MUST ROCK!"

If you buy a car or a part because it "sounds" cool then you are just the sheep the marketing execs are looking for to line their pockets.

Um, vernacular means "the common language of a region" I think you mean vocabulary, diction, jargon, terminology, or phraseology.

Nice try though.

I love it when people try to show off their vocabulary, but then end up showing their ignorance.

Ignore these jackasses. V-TECH gives you the ability to unlock 100 additional horsepower should you require it for any reason. Your car has 10 available V-TECH unlocks when it rolls off the production line, and YES you can add more at the dealership, for a cost. Accessing V-TECH is simple. You simply open your hood, remove the resonator, remove every piece of RUBBER tubing that you can find, and voila, V-TECH is ready to go. When you're ready to engage it, first clear your tripometer, then remove your cigarette lighter, set the time on your clock to 11:11, turn your headlights on and off three times, set climate control to 69, floor it, open your sunroof 3/4 of the way, pop your trunk, and BAM V-TECH ENGAGES that 100 BONUS HP!

lol i still think he doesnt have a clue wat vtec is, so lemme save u the embarrasment. all vtec does is at a certain RPM the computer will put more gas and air in ur engine giving you more power. even though it may sound tuneable, ITS NOT, i.e. if u touch it ur car may become sluggish, TERRIBLE fuel ecomnomy, and even a loss of power.

p.s. i was kiddin, it act. means Velocity Technology Economy Combusition Hydrogen. Ur car is actually runnin on hydrogen.
