an A/V question in the 1st gen fourm? I'll go get the beatin' stick.

please help! I need to know if an amp that produces 200W @4Ohms(14.4v) will be able to power 2 JL10w3V2 D2. The amp is stable down to 1Ohm loads but does that mean it can handle the voice coil configuration of 2 V2 D2s? I have been powering a single 1st gen10w3 with two channels from a JL 300/4 bridged(I think at 4Ohms). I recently had the driver replace with the V2 D2 and I would like to get another 10w3 V2 but I want to make sure I get an amp capable of providing sufficient power. Obviously I can solve this dilemma buy buying a JL1000/1 amp but I can also solve the dilemma of my car being slow by buying a 360 Spider R(you get my point) I would like, if possible, to use this amp to power the drivers and use the 300/4 for my other speakers. I am lost when it comes to OHm load and impedence and series or parrallel wiring so If someone could take a look at this amp's specifications and tell me if this is going to work it would be greatly appreciated. http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/pr...productId=2481

I have the same sub ... You can goto www.JLAudio.com , click on 'subwoofers' then on w3v2 and finally the data sheet .. in that sheet which comes with your subs when u buy them it shows you a wiring diagram ... for my subs i used a 4 ch amp that i briged into 2ch pushing like 200rms @ 4ohms to power each of my sub .. because you have D2 (like myself) you can only use: 1) a 1ch amp that pushes out 2ohms 2) a 4ch amp that when bridged pushes out 4ohm each channel ..

If you uses a one channel you would need to wire up the two subs in a series .. if you uses a 2 ch amp you would wire the subs up in a series as well but individually ..

also in that data sheet you'll find out how much power you would need for each sub to run optimal (approx 150 rms watts)..

After looking at the amp specs.. it seems like it wouldn't have a problem handling the sub.. but it won't be as clean and powerful as a JL Audio amp or PPI... For the Kenwood you would just run the amp as one ch into a series wiring of your two 10w3v2D2 subs.
