Update: The RS*R Ex-Mag has arrived

Well, i got home yesterday and found the anticipated RS*R Ex-Mag sitting on my front porch. For those who don't know RS*R , here's a little info taken from the website

http://www.rs-r.com/

RS*R is working testament that dreams do become a reality. Takeo Hayashi, began the RS*R journey back in 1970 with the establishment of a small tuning house in Kyoto, Japan. It was 1980 when Hayashi-san decided to make the transition from performance shop, to a high performance product manufacturing plant. Through hard work, and a little luck, 1980 was the year Hayashi-san introduced Racing Studio-R, or RS*R, to the world.

RS*R today is world renowned for the high quality suspension and exhaust products. With products ranging from the classic design of the ExMag exhaust system, to innovative Ti2000 suspension kits, RS*R has definitely made its mark in the automotive industry. RS*R is currently the leading manufacturer of aftermarket suspension kits in Japan.
I've been modifying Honda's since i bought my first 88 CRX over 15 years ago. I've seen/bought of catback exhausts from Thermal Research & Development to Ebay junk.... and this is by far the nicest quality exhaust you can get for the money. I paid just over $400 with shipping, and would do it again in a heart beat. Every RS*R product i've ever bought has been top quality....from the welds to the sound , to the perfect fitment. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone. So enough of the jibber jabber, her's a shit load of pics.

enjoy!

If your wondering, my rubber muffler mount stretched and broke which is why the muffler is slightly cocked to the left. This will be fixed tomorrow. All in all, there is no rubbing, vibration, rattles or other annoyances. I also did not have to modify, shorten or lengthen anything. Fit like a glove.

And if anyone's interested

So far I like the way it looks. Can you post a photo from maybe 20 yards back? It's hard to get a good idea of it's size from the close up photos. I'd also like to hear what it sounds like after about 10k miles. I've had some exhausts that were dead silent right after being installed, then get deep and make that droning sound at 3k RPM.

i drive a stock 2.3 CL and it still feels slow as balls to me. It is aprox. 2.5" (60mm) piping so i would imagine it would give the same gains as another brand. I also did not buy this exhaust to go faster or to increase horsepower. I bought this because it's not going to rust out in a year.

Hmm. Thats a very nice piece of metal! Its a catback, right? Are u running catless or with a cat? I am thinking about getting one of those... but i live in canada.. customs will kill my balls... maybe i could ship it to a warehouse next to the border, drive to the states, install it there, and come back with a brand-spanking new exhaust! :-) I would need a new cat aswell

if you want to get technical, it's 2.3622048 inches. Like i say, stock, 2.5", 2.36", whatever ....it was slow before, and it's still slow. If i am loosing power, which i don't think is true, how much could i possibly be loosing? Maybe 1 or 2 hp?...It's not a big deal to me anyway.

werd....it's a bone stock 2.3 with a gutted cat (because it broke internally) and a swiss cheese'd airbox. Not much performance happening here haha

Damn, I usually drive that much in a few months. Nice exhaust though. Never had a RSR, but have always heard good things.

RS*R Ex-Mag Exhaust

Sleek in design, this exhaust system's unpolished 304SUS setup maintains its subtle look while increasing horsepower. With the street enthusiast in mind, this system's mild tone hides the performance gains that many would normally believe are unheard of from a system looking and sound like the Ex-Mag. Designed for the street, the Ex-Mag is ideal in gaining horsepower throughout the entire power band. Its modesty is sure to surprise many, providing performance, style, and sound for every daily driving performance vehicle.
