Unstable after new pads?

This may be stupid ass question, but I put new brakes pads on this weekend, and for some reason when i drive normally, the steering seems unstable (without braking!)-espcially at higher speeds (60 and up). Could it be that the wheels weren't put back on correctly (lug nuts not tightend in correct order). I didn't put the front wheels back on (my friend did while i did rear pads).
Thanx for any help.

its possible that the lugs arent tightend down bring it to any tire shop and asked to have your lugs torqued down properly they should do this free ...

HEY WHATS UP? ITS FUNNY OVER THE WEEKEND I CUT MY ROTORS AND CHANGED MY PADS AND WHAT YOU SAID THATS HAPPENING TO YOU IS HAPPENING TO ME. WHILE DRIVING OVER 40 MILES THE STEERING STARTS TO SHAKE DRAMATICALLY WHILE PRESSING ON THE BRAKES, ALSO WHILE DRIVING (NORMAL SPEED) THE STEERING VIBRATES. I WAS TOLD TO BALANCE MY TIRES AND GET A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. WILL THIS STOP IT? I CERTAINLY HOPE SO.

You hit a pothole and your alignment can be knocked out of whack..that's why you buy lifetime alignments.
