Thanks guys I have 2 06 RSX's to use for parts both 6 speeds just hit in the rear enough to be totalled by the insurance companies. I am doing it all myself pretty much. I have a waterjet at my disposal along with a mig and a tig. Thinking of just getting some forged pistons from diamond racing and some h-beam rods. Gonna be running an intercooler with methanol injection. Exhaust is gonna be all made of 304 stainless and mandrel bent. Convinced the wife to get a new car so I can have the CL to play with. I wanna slay some Cobras that think they are the sh!t around here.

^ Just wanted to add, I went through the old threads.
This thread verifies he basically ran a 13 flat, his best time as of now without hooking up.

One of the more recent threads of his is when he went at the tracks with 607whp, but broke his halfshaft. His best time that day was a 13.5 @ 118mph. Easily a 12sec car with traction.

One custom CL
Really? wow I never heard that. i always heard of axles snapping at tranny but never halfshaft. wow
also i would imagine some better numbers coming out of 607whp
nothing against him... is the reason turbo lag? what could it be? does he have a traction bar?

He'd still spin like crazy on street tires. Better solution is to get the proper slicks and a traction bar. If i had that setup there's no way I'd be running it without a traction bar anyway, the car probably just spins and spins the tires

For 400whp, I think there's better options out there.
If you're going to stick with a 2.4 liter K series, I'd start with a stock K24 block just to keep it OEM and Crower (not Brian Crower) I beam rods with ARP rod bolts. You're spending a lot of money on this set up, so reliability would be my top priority. The K24 has a very high piston speed and I'd keep the revs low. The block is going to be the weakest part of the build.
A friend of mine had a 480whp LS motor. It's not that crazy of a number in terms of turbo Honda's. I can't see you having much of a problem hitting your goal. Good luck with it. It's nice to see someone doing something different.

if the blocks going to be the biggest problem.. why not just sleeve it?

Cheap, fast, reliable. You can only pick two. This is already an expensive project. I'd hate to see it not hold together.

i'm not following this whole sleeving issue. K series have iron cylinders don't they? If they're as good as the F's, I think he can hit 400whp safely without sleeving.

He said 400whp was the starting point. I'd assume he'd like to go beyond that. I just wouldn't skimp on the bottom end. I'm also a bit of a reliability freak when it comes to built motors.
