Universal Steering Interface

Has anyone successfully installed a steering wheel interface control button thing? It lets you use the factory steering wheel volume controls with an aftermarket head unit. I know, I know...do a search. I did and found a few options. This is the one I'll prob use..
Interface ,
I'm just curious how others have made out using one of these.

I haven't tried, asked a shop about it, they said that wat they normally use for a car to do that. It not considered something really hard for them to do. Alpines are generally better for that stuff because they have remote plugs in the back so you won't have to drill in a hole somewhere.

I was planning on getting a Kenwood. I will post to this thread once I have it installed. I'm not gonna do it for a few weeks though. Thanks for the input.

I have a kenwood also. You just need a kenwood remote, for some reason my head didn't come with one. I asked crutchfield about it, you just need to drill a pin hole somewhere where the remote output can hit the front of the headunit.

I'm not doing any drilling....This thing should hook up my factory Volume controls and seek button right to the new head unit. I have seen another style steering interface on the market as well. I want to keep the stock buttons with little modification. I will let you know how I make out.
