Unbolting plastic shield from fender

Hey guys,

I'm working on installing a new intake and I can't seem to get the plastic shielding off from underneath the fender and front bumper. Is there a trick to getting those plastic bolts out? What am I doing wrong? Please help!

I'm trying to unbolt the air resonator box and lower it out the bottom of the car. I'm pretty sure I need to take off the plastic liner to do this. Or am I doing this wrong?

yea, I just use a knife, I always have about 20 extra laying around

if you break them, order new ones from www.acuraautomotiveparts.org the dealer will rip you off

This is 100% easier then removing the front bumper

why cut it? Jack up the car. Remove those pastic snap on bolt things with a flat head. Look under the car there should be a one #10 bolt holding that plastic shield in place. Just unbolt it and that whole black liner will come down.

OK, thanks CLPower. I guess I'll have to order some...what a pain in the arse. I wonder why nobody ever explains this part in the intake installation guides.

CLpower - Do you know what the product number is or how to find these plastic bolts at the website you listed (what to search for)? I'm guessing it is a 20mm grommet--is this correct?
