Tune up in process

ok winter is coming around and my car needs a tune up big time. I was wondering what would be the price range. I am not planning on takin it to a ACURA dealer becuase they are bunch of rip offs. and i need a place where they can do a nice job and not rip me off like Jiffy Lube.

just do it yourself. Plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor button, oil change with filter, air filter, maybe even do the seafoam diy in the diy section. Something that is a good idea is the coolant flush, possibly a radiator cap. Save yourself alot of money in labor, and the mark up on parts that most garages apply. Take a good afternoon to do it.

If you don't feel comftorable doing it yourself, find a mechanic that will let you bring your own parts and just charge you for labor, that's what I did for my tune up a few years back, just bought the plugs off of ebay and had him install them for me, then did the wires and such myself.

thats exactly what i did...i work in West Patterson and i bought the parts myself and brought it to a local gas station that had a mechanic and they did it cheap...i think i paid like $325 for complete tune-up, oil change, and they changed out my brake pads and rotors (brought my own parts as well)

don't forget transmission fluid change and fuel filter. transmission fluid change usually makes a huge difference in shift quality/smoothness for automatics and its easier than an oil change - takes about 2.5 quarts of ATF-Z1. Buy the fluid and a new drain plug crush washer from honda or acura and clean the plug magnet off with a rag while its out.

fuel filter is a bit more involved and takes some semi-contortionist moves, but is definitely DIYable.
