Transmission Question

I'm really worried about my transmission going out. It's not giving me any problems and its just as fine as it was when I got the car, maybe better BUT how do you take care of it? I don't want it to go out on me if I can prevent it. I change the transmission fluid at least once a year and thats all I can think of doing besides not being to rough on the gas pedal. Any help would be cool. Thanks in advance!

Hey FastVTECCL, does it really help that much? Can I put it on myself and if not, how much you think I shop will charge? And finally, what type of tranny cooler should I get? I hear everyone here gets the Hayden. Which model do I get? Thanks!

yea it has helped me alot keeping my tranny cooler with all the shit i have on my car. my temp reading in my car used to be about half way between C and H now it sit alot closer to the C with the cooler on. you could put it on yourself if you really knew what your doing but if not it would be about 50 dollars depending on were you go. all the coolers work just as good but get a hayden if you can.

Make sure that the tranny is flushed on an auto when you change the fluid since 50% of the fluid stays in there.

From what I read in the forums, changing it is a better idea. Keeps the parts lubed etc. I would chekc around for more info first.
