Tranny Swap
My cousin has a 99 3.0 CL. We are planning to swap it from a auto to a manual transmission. Which transmission would be best to suit that engine? So far i have the cl-s transmission and the 03-04 6speed v6 accord transmission, if you know any other transmission otherwise, or any help or tips that would help us, please let me know, thank you.

i think that most of the swap is getting the engine to think theres still an automatic still attatched. theres a rev limiter when the car is in park and neutral. at like 5k rpm's. besides the obvious (shifter pedal, master cylinder, linkage and mounting, the rev limiter is gonna be the hardest part.

they don't have the link to teh honda tranny on their page, but they can rebuild one that can withstand up to 400 crank hp, and includes and LSD. it's still a 4 speed auto though, but you don't have to worry about the tranny ever ding.
the only previous attempt to swap in a CLs manual trany worked, but his problem was that he kept the stock ECU in there and just used a bunch of direct resistors and switches to trick the ECU into thinking it was in park, or whatever. You'd probably be able to do it a LOT easier if you just got a stand alone engine management system, but those cost upwards of $2000 + tuning.
nobody has tried the accord 6SP tranny yet though, but I'm guessing you'll fun into very similar problems... unless it's still mounted to a J30 in which you might even be able to use the ECU from the accord manuals and just replace the one in the CL.
do a search for "dr evil" in the first gen and "manual swap", and you should find a lot of info.
