Well...the car is going by by for a few days tomorrow to have the kit installed. Finally found a good shop close-by to take her to. Rest assured...there will be many, many pics posted when she is completed, hopefully by Monday.

He bought Velsides kit didnt he? Velsides CL was the orange one...I know 97CL22's is green...wonder if he'll paint it green or totaly get the car sprayed a new custom color?

do you custom fabricate from scratch or do you just modify exsisting headlights.

first what he does is takes a frisby and heats it up and then stretches it so its clear, then melts a grey bucket and then forms the back half of the lamp.. then what he does is he drills little holes, and puts hamsters inside and what they do is they chew out the inside so then he cuts a witches magic ball in half and super glues it in the inside.. home made projectors

i take the OEM headlights and modify them to fit projectors

its hard work

more than 30 hours went into his lights that he has that were mine all custom, the trim ring to the shroud all hand made and designed

 

The kit went in on the weekend for prep/paint work. The car gets dropped off tomorrow, install will happen Thursday, and should have the car back end of day Friday. It staying Cypress Green Pearl (just can't bring myself to change it, plus that costs alot lol). Basically every major mod on my car was bought/made from someone on this board, so the pics will really be dedicated to A-cl.com. Without projos, the screen, rims, kits...etc etc this car would be plain as day. Not to mention the ability of this board to make people go broke spending on their car.

:sigh: Just called the shop. They said it is going to be Monday or Tuesday before they get it done. I suppose its good that they aren't rushing the job, but regular radio is horrid compared to XM! I miss my baby!

 

I know how the whole bodyshop deal works. Those fucks never get it done on time.

As long as your car is in a quality shop, I'm sure they're taking thier time to make everything as good as they can.

Our customers want thier cars done YESTERDAY. If I take my time, and do an awesome job, all they have to complain about is that it took an extra day or so. Not defects and fuck-ups.

Go do a nice photo-shoot out in the sun right after you get it back. Theres nothing better than brand-new crystal clear clearcoat out in the sun.

 

Its not about being a hater, thats the truth. I've rarely seen any bodyshop guys meet deadlines. When I got my car done, it was supposed to take no more than 2 weeks the guy said. "2 weeks, and you ll be looking good!". Well, 6 weeks later, I finally got my car back. He did great work, Im' not complaining, but I just wish he wouldve given me a more realistic timetable, so I wouldnt be constantly wondering why its taking longer than 2 weeks.

 

I live in Iowa. Chances of a nice sunny day happening to occur the day i get my car is slim at best lol

Saw her this morning. Going to be detailed and dropped off at my work. I'll have pics this afternoon as soon as I get home from work. I think you guys are going to be as happy as me

 

 

All detailed up. I must say I think the kit looks better in green (though I am obviously biased). The first set of pics will be almost night pics, since i don't get off until 6, but rest assured, there will be ALOT of pics for you to feast on
