tires???
I need new tires ASAP and was wondering if 215's can fit on a 98 cl rim (16inch) and also what type of tires ya'll would go with, i have had goodyear eagles, kuhmos, and toyos. While I had those tires i never was never really in love with how they performed. Any suggestions

Look at the measured rim width (MRW) of the tire. I believe our wheels are 6.5" wide. If youre going for a wider tire, make sure the sidewall is appropriate so you keep a similar overall tire diameter. I dont think a 215 will rub. I can't speak from experience though...

Stock size is 205/55/16. Don't get anything smaller. Larger tires will cost you on gas mileage, but can def help grip. I recall some here getting a 225 on the stock rims, not sure on rubbing though - are you lowered? I think 205s are fine though - at the point where my tires (see below) start to lose grip, the car is seriously leaning too - so it's pretty much the limit of the car anyhow.
Whats the budget for the tires? I can def reccommend the tires I have - Michelin Pilot XGT H4s in stock size. They aren't cheap, but they are some damn good tires. Excellent blend of dry performance and wet traction.
Don't get suckered into buying any Michelin Energy series tires tho. They suck for any kind of performance driving. Apparently there is some kind of commission on them tho, b/c every dumbass tire salesman will try to sell you a pair.

Take a look at the Dunlop Sport A2's if you are going stock size. They are fairly affordable and have good treadwear ratings. I am pleased with them for an all around tire.
