Timing retard & N2O Dyno Experience
I went to retard my timing last friday for the N20 and I look at the stupid distributor and you cant rotate it. Is there anyway to do it besides getting a MSD retard control. This is for the 23. And I tried to put a 22 modified distributor cap for my ss blaster coil and yet again more problems they wouldnt line up correctly. Now I cant use the blaster coil because There is not an aftermarket modified cap, at least not a msd. Now I cant find a positive and negative hook up on the stock coil. This is funny that this happened to me because I was just running my mouth on another post about how easy it was to install the sci ignition. I had it all hooked up except for the distributor cap and it was easy until I found out that the stupid distributor cap wouldnt fit. Our caps also cant be modified because there is no place to mouht the power tower. I need imput on what to do about the timing as well as the ignition. Im so fed up with it now that im ready to scrap the whole ignition all together and just run the 55 shot of N20. The 75 shot only put out about 50 at the wheels with out a bottle heater and now my bottle is low and Im getting Im guessing about 35 whp. Im really fed up with everythign right now some one needs to tell me something that will encourage me. Thanks for letting me vent

Dont know what to do if a 2.2 cap wont fit. Will an 98 accord cap fit? I now have two that dont fit maybe you could snap a pic of yours or measure the holes respective to the others and I'll see if they match. Otherwise this might help:
My install
As far as the retarding goes, I've struggled getting any movement of the distributor to make any change in timing.
It does rotate, but not very much. You have to jumper out the service connector to keep the ecu from overriding the retard or advance while moving the distributor, but I cant move away from 15 degrees btc regardless of how much I move it.
You'll have to get an ignition that allows a retard under NOS or a stand alone ecu.

Timing is always at 15 degree btc regardless of amount of swivel.
Problem unsolved.

I tried the two bolt thing too, and it does not work. I found some clear cap for a 23 in my jc whitney book it is for show or something because it is clear and you can see the spark but I looked further into it and it looks like the cap can be modified with a power tower, and accel also makes an entire ignition kit but I dont want to buy the whole kit I only want the cap so I am going to call them to see if they sell it separtly. Looks like a retard box is my only choice on the timing. I also tried putting the 22 cap on and it doesnt fit correctly even with leaving the bolt that doesnt match up off.

Ok I found that clear distributor cap that can be modded from JCWhitney and it says it will work for the 98 accord, 90-91 accord, 98 civic and 97 del sol all with the same part number??? This does not sound correct to me at all, I called them and they didnt have a number for the company to check on this. Anyone know anybody with one of these cars to check if the cap is the same on the f23 as any of these other motors.
