Mine, 98. 2.3CL, was changed by locala dealer at Baton Rouge last spring.
Actually, at that time, I studied to try DIY on timing-belt change. It seemed not that hard.
After studying I found out I needed some special tool to screw out some big bolt...
I couldn't remember the correct part. Someone said. he used some air tools requiring air compressor. Many website, I studied, said..before going I need to make sure whether I can screw off that hard bolt.
Finally, to save some $$, I ordered parts from Ebay.
Some guy is selling Timing belt change KiT .. all of those are OEM.
However, It didn't include the timing belt balancer which was recommended to change.
I paid above 200$$. I recall 246$$ something.
A local dealer changed the timing belt requiring 432 $$. I have receipt .
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MISC replaced timing belt, water pump, and drive belts
labor 331.50$$ (usually 3~5 hours job)
with customer supplied parts
coolant 12.12$$( because, you need to change the water pump also)
MISC Replace cam seal - labor 42.50
with some tax
I paid 432.03$$.
-----------------------------------
One more important thing, You should buy a OEM parts.
At that time, he asked me .. Do you have OEM parts? Or he said he cannot do the job.
I remember that.
Be careful about that.
haha..
Mine was changed at 133K Mile. now 144000miles.
Good Luck.
