'Thunk' sound when turning left

I've noticed when I make left turns, if there's even a slight bump in the road when turning towards the left I hear a 'thunk' sound coming from around the right front side of the car. I notice it only going at slower speeds and when turning left. Doesn't happen on even bumpy roads when going straight or turning right. Recenty had new tires, alignment (before I bought car). I've noticed this more and more over the past few weeks or so. Hmmm. Any ideas

Thanks--

thanks for the info. just did a search on recalls for '98 CL's and found a NHTSA recall for the ball joints

Having my independent Honda/Acura mechanic take a look first. Wonder how Acura dealers are about performing recall work on older cars, and how many hoops I'd have to jump through...

Not many, the recalls are a safety issue and Acura doesn't want to pay out on liability for defective components. They will fix it free. You might also check to see that the other two recalls were done on your car.

Ball joint lower control arm.
Defective ignition switch contacts.
Sticking shift interlock mechanism.
