for those with foglights or any knowledge on electricals

what the fuck is this

orange wire, brown connector... does it run power?

Thing is, ive got pretty much all the wiring on the fogs ready to go but they've got no power going through for some reason.

Thanks guys!
-Alex

PS - im pretty much decided that it is a power wire, and that i'll just have to splice it to something running power because our cars dont have the brown connector piece at the end...

again, any and all help is appreciated!

U can't just tap off the battery? That's your closest option, also is the switch on when you're "not getting" power? Just some thoughts

And where did you pull that orange wire from, behind the glovebox or something?

my bud and I were thinking along the way that it might be the power for the button... since the actual fogs had a power and ground, the button itself also had a ground.. but we didnt figure the power until later.

Its orange, which tells me that it is probably for power (most oranges and reds usually are)

Just making sure...

ok.

the thing is, the actual fogs have their own set of power and ground wires.

then, I guess the switch itself has a power/ground. So Whatever that orange wire is must be what powers the switch.

U still didn't say where you got the orange wire from? Is it attached to the car, did it have anything hooked up to it?

if your almost positive its power (which it sounds like it is), clip off the connector, and tap into a constant 12v source. thats what i would do.

i'd be scared of shooting 12v through it, but worst case scenario you blow out a bulb or something in your fogs.

my previous post is based on the assumption that the wire in question came with the fogs and can be traced back to either the switch or the fogs themselves.

for what its worth the OEMs draw their power directly from the battery with an inline fuse before the relay

damn edit time

anyway it appears that it is the same thing as the gray connector in the upper left which is just a disconnect from the battery, so it would be a 12v constant.

just an update... electricals are all in check.. the actual wire assembly can be used from the civic foglight kit no problem at all

However, the only issue im going to have now is mounting the fuckers to the bumper. Ick.
