Thinking of selling the CL

Hey guys I'm thinking of selling my car in the next few months and i wanted to get an idea of how much I can get for it. Look in my sig for details. Would I have better luck (cost vs. time waiting) selling it to carmax, or putting ads around and waiting for a private buyer to see it? I know trade in is easiest, but I don't wanna lose that extra money to a dealer.

Of course, if anyone here is interested, or knows of someone that might be, by all means, let me know

Here are some pics: Pics

looks nice. I'd buy it if I didn't already own one. Looks like you bought it a Frankel. Good dealer! Where do you get the service done and how many miles do you have in case I know someone who'd be interested.....

2 Kenwood 10's - Doesn't add to value
CAI - Doesn't add to value
PIAA Xtreme interior - Doesn't add to value
Clear Corners - Doesn't add to value
Eibach Pro-Kit - Doesn't add to value
9005 Swap - Doesn't add to value
20% Tint - Doesn't add to value

So what you have is a 9 year old car in good condition. They'll probably give you $3K for it for trade in. If you sell it yourself maybe $5K - maybe.

could you post some interior pics as well?

what are you getting when you sell the CL? staying in the Acura family? When get a new car (probably 2 years off) I love Audi's, but I think I'll have to stay Japanese. If you want a car that will get over 100k w/o $$$$$ maintenance, Lexus/Acura/Infiniti are the way to go

where in md are you?
im curious if youve ever had problems with the law with those tints.

you should get some "back to black" kinda stuff and hit those skirts. they are looking pretty faded.

what are you doing with your CAI? I'm in MD, i could pick it up if youre getting rid of it.

and yes, steelers

What's our oppinion gonna do? And you better take off some of that aftermarket stuff cause it lowers the value. Just look in the paper and see what they're going for in your area. IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU LIVE!!!

In the OKC area, you could get $6K easy. As for aftermarket stuff, leave it on... the right buyer won't mind it. Or, you could go back to stock and put the extras in the trunk for the new owner.

I know none of that crap adds value, unless a specific buyer likes it.

I looked at edmunds TMV, autotrader, carmax, and cars.com to see what comparable models are going for, and ones with 120k miles are listed at 7-8k. I have 92k miles so I'm listing at 6500 for starters. Corners will be switched out or original amber ones will be included. I'll also include the OEM bra since I'll have no use for it. I even have the OEM springs, but I don't really feel like putting them back on.

shnee - I'm in SE carroll county, in fact i was thinking of putting the old airbox back in since i never hear the intake anymore anyway due to me being stingy with gas so if you want it, its yours. no problem with the tints, i think the only time i got a ticket i had the window down already. Oh tell me more about that 'back to black' stuff.

Yeah I got it at frankel. I used to get it serviced there but it's way far and way expensive. So I started going to this place called Foreign Auto in Elkridge where my friend worked. Lately nothing major has been needed and I've been taking it to a mom and pop place near me for oil changes. I have all the service records too.

I traded my 2.2 in with 127k and they gave me 3k, with WW lip and the eibach sportlines and momo accessories. Dealers use some other book other than kbb and edmunds that rapes you even more. Whatever kbb says take about 1500 off of that.

not always true, i work at a honda dealership and my managers will sometimes give a modified car thats older a better appraisal than a car thats stock, this happens in some cases and depends on the overall condition of the car. as long as the mods will pass inspection.

Foreign Auto is where I take my CL!!! It's 40-45 minutes from where I live in Lutherville (I live like 5 mins from Frankel), but Brian & Steve are very honest, and everyone that works there knows what they're doing. It's worth the drive for me. I've taken all my previous cars to them, also. Actually, they've been able to take care of a couple minor issues I had with the car that the dealership was stumped on.

Talk about a small world.....

Cool! My buddy who works there is also named Ryan so usually i stand with him while he works on it. Steve has worked on my car too and he said it's a "nice little car."

So do you really think someone might be interested in it? I doubt very highly I'll trade it in at a dealer. Highway robbery if you ask me.

Take the stuff off and sell on Ebay - I agree replacing the springs would be a pita - I hope you get every bit of $6.5K. As far as I see it there is not car that compares as well as a CL that can be bought for so little money.

What you SHOULD do is just ebay some of the stuff like the amp, CAI, etc. If its not going to make you money on the car then you myswell ebay it.

I'd take the eibach kit though .

You're better off buying a new one for 220 or so instead of paying me for the 4 hrs of labor it will take to swap them out.

i.e. it was a PITA to swap them when i got the pro kit
