Dude, think for a sec...(not trying to sound mean). Perhaps some 2.2/2.3 cls are faster than 3.0 but that because of mods. I certainly hope Acura isn't so stupid they make the larger engine slower. Yes you lose stick, but a car with an auto will race just as well as a car with stick, just gotta know what your doin.
I feel the 3.0 is alot more luxurious and classy since it actually has some power. The 2.2/2.3 are just a upgraded version of an accord with more status. Some people like ohh wow u got CL throw some 20" spinners on there...Soo dumb lol

They are both upgraded versions of the accord!! OH well, at least they ARE nice than accords. (accords of the same year at least)
BTW- They stopped making CL's now because they made the new accord so nice that it was almost the same car as the Cl-S
r0dxx is right. Tranny don't matter, not only because most people can't drive a stick as well as a computer can, but an auto tranny is just more complex, not slower. You'll wear your brakes out more with an auto since you cant just pop into neutral with a quick step, but aside from that, they run pretty much the same.

who told you that lie? not all tranny's are set up that way. it all depends on the gear ratios. personally i like my stick alot better. for example i was climbing a hill, in a manual i can downshift and have more power getting up there. if me and a auto 2.2 raced, it wouldn't even be fair. shift when you want.

Any you are right, the manual is the choice for racers, due tot he control. I have driven manuals, raced them even, and yes they do provide more control, torque.
My point is that an auto downshifts.

E.G.
TH400 upgrade.
Once you reach a certain amount of horsepower it becomes damn near impossible to keep shiting accuratly and faster than an automatic tranny can. Though cars with rediculous hp (top fuel and whatnot) would use manual just because a planetary gearset would blow up with 7000 hp running through it. Manuals are far more simple and stable.

True, you get more control with a manual, as opposed to the stick, but you can down shift a manual too....
