Is there any to adjust the tranny?

Is there any way to adjust the tranny so it doesn't shift so damn early or at low rpm? By 30mph, it's in 3rd gear already. If I need to roll pass something, it's gotta kick-down first then take off...and that's like an extra second+...and in traffic, that's a big difference. Of if some fool in a Malibu or a Taurus SVT wants to start from a rolling start at 25mph. My car is already in 3rd gear then it does that usual stall > down shift jerk.

I "manually" shit into every gear. This allows me to get the added top end HP from my headers.

I rarely use 4th gear anymore (unless on the highway, about 65-70 mph).

If you change ur torque convertor, that will basically do it. It will make ur shifts better but give have to give up a little of the gas mileage. It is expensive upgrade and something would require your car to be disabled when they are rebuilding it to ur specs or their recommend specs. Other than that you can't do much to change how it shifts. If you go crazy u can upgrade to "race level" but that won't be too driveable on the street.

My first gear runs to almost 4K before it shifts to second during slow-moderate acceleration. I always thought that was odd.
